Mr. Pedron is currently the Co-Founder, Festival Director and Programmer of the International Film Festival Manhattan now on it’s 6th Year. IFFM showcases Asian, Latino, New York and International filmmakers that reflect the change that we see in America and the world today. Luis is proud to advocate Filipino films and filmmakers from around the world to showcase them here in NY and around the USA.
He was also the Festival Manager of the Viva Latino International Film Festival NY 2015. In the past, he was the Co-Founder and Programmer for the Soho International Film Festival 2010 and 2011, Festival Director for the Asians on Film Festival in North Hollywood CA 2013 and Festival Director for the One FILAM Film Festival Hollywood CA 2013.
He has been in the business of supporting artists from the Tri-State NYC-NJ-CT area and from around the world. He has Co-Produced international events that has helped out the community socially and economically since 2004. As a media person, Luis has been a freelance film critic and journalist who has covered the NY Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, Slamdance Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, Asian American International Film Festival (Asian CineVision) and NYC Horror Film Festival to name a few since 2004.
He also worked here in the USA for GMA Pinoy TV and also ABS CBN in various capacities including street marketing, teaching Call Center employees about Filipino culture, handling Filipino artists at the Philippine parades in NY and NJ and concerts, camerawork and managing events.
Luis is proud to have managed the US and Philippine crew of 100 strong at the Eat Bulaga show held at the Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City NJ in 2009.
Luis Pedron owns the multi-media company and PR marketing firm — LFP International Production Inc. The firm produced international events and published Fanclubx.com, an online entertainment site (2004-2010), Planet Philippines NY-NJ, an entertainment news magazine (2007-2009) and the International Film Festival Manhattan. He is also the Co-Producer of the international event, Queens Asian Fest (2010-2013). He produced the Fanclubx.com Filmmaking Contest at the ImaginAsian Theater NYC (2006-2007).
He has published articles on One Philippines NY-NJ, Planet Philippines NY-NJ and Filpino Reporter, Filipino Express and Inquirer.net. His celebrity interviews are also on youtube.com. He is the co-host of the Program “Get Reel” doing film, tv and entertainment news and interviews.
Luis is currently the Co-Founder and Communications Manager of the non-profit Kalusugan (Health) Coalition that encourages Filipino Americans to take care of their hearts.
He is a Board of Director of the non-profit organization Filipino American Senior Citizen Association of Queens NY that was founded by his parents Luis and Flor Pedron. It advocates for the Senior Citizen issues in living their golden years fully. He was also a Board Member of FAHSI (Filipino American Human Services Inc.) and a proud member of the Philippine NY Jaycees.
Luis is also an award-winning short filmmaker. His films had played in film festivals all over the world. This include “Receptionist Smart” (co-directed with Mark Levitt ) which won 3 awards and was screened as part of the International Festival of Cinema and Technology World Tour 2004 in NYC, Toronto, Canada and Brisbane Australia. He was awarded for Best Directing and Best Documentary Video at the NYIIFVF for his documentary, “VIP Very Important Pinoys” honoring Filipino American seniors in Elmhurst Queens NYC. “Party Games” (co-directed with Mark Levitt) won the Best Director Award Short at the NYIIFVF 2004. Luis is a co-producer of the Gerry Balasta Film, “The Solar Champion”.
He is proud to be part of the marketing team of the successfully funded Kickstarter campaigns for The Solar Champion and Adventures on the Tabletop — Game Design Documentary.
Luis Pedron has been seen in his cameos in feature films such as “American Adobo,” “13 Going on 30,” “Shortcut to Happiness,” “Delivery Man,” “Thank you for Sharing”
and in TV shows like “Gotham,” “The Good Wife,” and “Limitless”. He has also starred in Off Broadway play including “Insiders” as the Comedian and “Postal Madness” as Mr Yu.
Luis Pedron is also a professional actor and a proud member of the Screen Actor Guild- AFTRA (SAG-AFTRA) Union and a voting member of the SAG Awards since 1998.
